you mean other countries don’t use words like “great” “wonderful” “amazing” and “super” like all the time?
while other languages and dialects of English do (obv) have those words, American English is unique in just how casually we use them.
like, the word “awesome” literally means “awe-inspiring.” it’s used in the Bible to describe God’s power. yet nowadays most Americans use it in sentences like “If you could pass me the salt, that’d be awesome.”
as a german who hosted several american friends on their eruotrips, this is all so true and they DONT REALIZE IT THEMSELVES
