 DANCHI public housing apartments range from 3 and 4 story blocks on the edges of cities, to massive complexes housing tens of thousands of people. 

The architecture of these new concrete communities replaced the wood and dirt of Old Japan and brought with them the promise of a bright future, but what do they mean today?
